What is Reach a Million Kids sponsorship?

Reach a Million Kids sponsorship gives you the opportunity to provide training, resources and a network of support to one children’s outreach leader ministering in a region where kids desperately need to hear the gospel. Your gift of $25 per month will supply a leader with all he or she needs to gather teams to present children’s outreaches, which we anticipate will reach at least one hundred kids for Christ in the coming year.

How does sponsorship work for the leader?

Throughout the coming year, wherever Kidzana teams train children’s leaders, we will add specialized Reach a Million Kids training clinics to train hand picked children’s leaders to participate in the Reach a Million Kids Project. The training will include specialized focus on issues of evangelism to kids, how to lead children to Christ, follow up and discipleship, overcoming community obstacles, working with families, and more. They’ll receive a full library of culturally relevant, reproducible outreach and follow up resources. We’ll customize the library for different countries and settings. In addition, children’s leaders who often feel alone and isolated in their work will receive encouragement, network and support from Kidzana and national outreach coordinators who live in their country.

How does sponsorship work for me – the sponsor?

To begin sponsoring a leader, call us or sign up on our website. Let us know if you have a special country of interest. You’ll receive a photo and bio of your children’s outreach leader so you can pray for him or her throughout the coming year. Use our “31 Ways to Pray for Children around the World” prayer card and monthly Prayer Bulletin. We’ll provide country updates as we receive them 2-4 times each year and in our bi-monthly newsletter. Why sponsor a children’s leader through Kidzana?

Most children’s leaders live in needy areas of the world and have no resources for training, outreach or ministry without our help. Your financial support, encouragement and prayer can provide them with what they need to move out into their communities to reach kids.

How much does it cost to sponsor a children’s leader?

You can sponsor one leader for $25 per month, or $300 per year. Let us know if you would like to receive information about automatic monthly payments.

Will I be the only person sponsoring the leader I’m helping?

Yes. The $300 provided by a one year sponsorship will cover the cost of the training, materials and network support that your sponsored leader will need to present outreaches to children in their own community.

How is this different from sponsoring a child?

By sponsoring a leader, you are providing him or her with outreach resources and training, rather than providing for physical and educational needs. Your sponsorship will affect the lives of many children, as your sponsored leader shares the love of Christ with them through outreach and follow up. Like other sponsorship programs, Reach a Million Kids aims to transform communities by sharing Christ’s love with children. The difference is, we focus on the teachers who will be working with the children, rather than directly sponsoring the children themselves.

Unlike child sponsorship, which may last for an indefinite period of time, Reach a Million Kids sponsorship lasts for one year.

How important is prayer in Reach a Million Kids sponsorship?

The Reach a Million Kids leaders live and work in spiritual battle zones, and they need not only your financial support, but also your faithful prayers. At Kidzana we are aware that it is only through the work of the Holy Spirit that we will be able to accomplish our goal of reaching a million kids. Your leader will be encouraged to know you are praying for him or her, and will probably be praying for you too.

Can I email/communicate with my sponsored leader?

Most Reach a Million Kids leaders live in remote areas with little or no consistent communication technology. You are free to write via email. We will forward/translate and send through a Country Coordinator, as possible. We will also forward/translate letters and emails as your leader sends them.

What other opportunities will I have to learn about the leader I’m helping?

We will send ministry updates from your leader’s country as we receive them. You will receive our monthly prayer letter, which will inform you about the prayer needs of upcoming teams and keep you posted about how Reach a Million training clinics and children’s outreaches are going.

What if I can’t continue my sponsorship?

Let us know. We’ll find another sponsor, so the leader will continue to receive support.

How will you know you’ve reached a million kids?

We keep careful records from teams and field leaders, especially the number of leaders trained. Leaders estimate the number of kids they will lead to Christ at outreach events. If there is ever a question, we use the most conservative estimate.

Kidzana staff will not directly lead kids to Christ. The goal is to train enough workers/leaders to Reach a Million Kids.
